Lindsay started his photography career in the photography and design studio of New Zealand Railways in central Wellington. He considered this a great place to work for a keen 19 year old photographer.
After working for various commercial photographers from within Wellington and London he opened his own studio in 1990 and feels fortunate to have worked with clients, covering corporate, industrial, food, advertising, agriculture and landscape photography ever since.
His aspirations are to continue photography in such a way to allow him to further his passion for travel photography. In 2010 he gained runner up for the overall Travel Photographer of the year award and 2013 winner of the Best Unpublished Travel Image with an atmospheric image of boys playing soccer in Morocco.
Lindsay is inspired by his peers but also attributes the success of his travel images to a life changing workshop he attended in 2010 run by Magnum and National Geographic photographer Steve McCurry. Lindsay went on to assist McCurry teaching at one of his recent workshops in Thailand.
Lindsay is looking forward to sharing his experiences to help take better environmental portraits with the bare minimum of post processing.
